Art Nouveau Pewter Mounted Wine Jug
Stylish German Jugendstil wine jug of large proportions.
The green tinted glass is housed in a beautifully crafted pewter mount with an Art Nouveau openwork design of flowers, buds and leaves.
Standing on a solid pewter foot which surrounds and protects the base of the jug and with finely detailed pewterwork forming the neck, hinged lid, handles and pourer.
A high quality piece and though we’ve looked everywhere for a maker’s mark we are, surprisingly, unable to find one.
With a capacity of approximately two litres, the jug measures 35.5 cm high to the highest point and is in excellent condition.
