Art Nouveau Matched Photo Frames*
Item Description
A matched pair of very pretty English Art Nouveau silver and oak photograph frames from two different makers.
One is marked T & S with hallmarks for Chester 1903, and the other S & Co. (for Sydney & Co) with the Birmingham hallmarks for 1906.
The shaped backs are faced with pierced and embossed silver fronts and decorated with a delightful Lily of the Valley design. In the language of flowers the Lily of the Valley is said to represent the return to happiness.
Complete with bevelled glass and good oak easel supports. The height is 24.5 cm and the width 16.5 cm.
