Art Nouveau Matched Photo Frames
A matched pair of very pretty English Art Nouveau silver and oak photograph frames from two different makers.
One is marked T & S with hallmarks for Chester 1903, and the other S & Co. (for Sydney & Co) with the Birmingham hallmarks for 1906.
The shaped backs are faced with pierced and embossed silver fronts and decorated with a delightful Lily of the Valley design. In the language of flowers the Lily of the Valley is said to represent the return to happiness.
