Gold Necklace with Moonstones and Sapphires*
Item Description
Necklace in 15 ct. gold from the late Art Nouveau era of around 1910, showing evidence of inspiration from the Arts & Crafts movement which was also strong at that time.
The main element is openwork in design and comprises a wide fan shape detailed with little winding stems and leaves.
A moonstone is set in the centre surrounded by four little sapphires.
Further sapphires are set a short way along the necklace, also in the central drop below, and three more moonstones in separate drops complete an overall extremely elegant look, the classic combination of moonstones and sapphires working so well.
The central feature, including its drop, is 4 cms. long and the fully opened out length is 44 cms.
Marked 15 ct. on the bolt ring.
