Art Nouveau Forest Fairy Clock*
Lovely unsigned Art Nouveau clock in gilded spelter embellished with a fairy standing on bullrushes by the side of the clock face.
With a delightfully irregular shape and a typically Nouveau design of sinuous leaves and tendrils. The pretty figure of the fairy, leaning forwards with her wings erect, just adds to the mystical atmosphere this clock exudes.
We have had the movement fully checked and it is in fine working condition, with a bell on the hour and half-hour.
Approximately 42 cm high. As to be expected after more than a hundred years of use, some of the gilding has worn away, but it still looks terrific on display.
