WMF Pickle Frame and Fork
Stylish silver plated frame by WMF with fitted cut crystal glass insert, illustrated and listed as a pickle frame and fork on page 263 of the WMF Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork book.
Secessionist in style and an elegant piece of tableware.
We can see no reason why this item couldn’t be used for jam or honey instead of pickle if preferred – just suspend a longish teaspoon from the side instead of the pickle fork.
The fork supplied is a replacement and is by Gladwin Ltd., the original having been missing when we acquired the frame and jar. It is, however, a perfect fit.
The overall height is approximately 24 cm with the width just a little under 14 cm.
Dating from the early 1900’s.
