William Aitken Silver Coupe
Item Description
A fine three-handled silver coupe, or loving cup, made by William Aitken of Birmingham and hallmarked for 1906.
Raised off a pedestal foot decorated with three equally spaced oval lapis lazuli cabochons.
The sides of the bowl are detailed with a fluted design centrally placed between the three upward curving handles which are flattened at their tops, level with the rim.
Height is a fraction below 18 cm and the diameter of the bowl is a little over 14 cm.
The weight is 518 gms.
