Theodor Fahrner Silver and Coral Brooch*
Item Description
Rectangular Art Deco era silver gilt brooch made by by Theodor Fahrner and dating from around 1930-35.
Partially gilded and showing a lightly hammered finish, the brooch features a repeating looped design of scrolling ‘S’ shapes set with little marcasites, and is further decorated with a pair of pinkish-orange coral cabochons, one set at each end.
The rounded ends show a lightly etched detail which effectively frames and draws the eye to the main decorative plaque.
Marked on the back ‘Original Fahrner’ and with the silver content of 935 – a higher grade than sterling.
The brooch is a little over 3 cm wide.
