The New Pipe
Item Description
Superb, rare and very desirable statue of a young black boy by Johann Maresch, titled “La pipe neuve”.
The lad is cheekily grinning as he shows off his prized new pipe. He is so pleased with himself that even his big toe is raised off the ground in his excitement. There is plenty of fantastic detail on display here and the more you look at him, the more this wonderful character rewards you.
In super condition, bearing in mind it was made between 1880 and 1890, and a good size at 67 cm tall.
