‘Sylphide’ by Guerbe*

Item Description

Dark green and brown patinated white metal figure titled Sylphide, signed Guerbe at the base – Guerbe being a synonym used by the prolific Pierre Le Faguays.

The young lady is posing on tiptoe with one arm aloft holding a long scarf which is swirling around her naked body as it falls.  A delightfully elegant small sculpture and visually pleasing from all angles.

Cast at the Le Verrier foundry in Paris circa 1930 and around 28 cm tall.  Condition is excellent.
