Silver Plated Iced Water Jug
Item Description
Silver plated and etched glass jug with a fitted glass ice chamber from WMF dating from the early 1900’s.
We have seen these before in plain glass but this one has a beautifully detailed etched design of flowers, leaves and stems of tulips on both sides.
The hinged lid lifts to reveal the insert into which ice is placed so as to keep the chosen drink surrounding it pleasantly cool.
In addition to water, these were often used for soft drinks such as orange or lemon squash.
The jug, with cooler in place, has a capacity of approximately two litres and the overall height is 30 cm.
