Silver and Saphiret Cross Pendant*
Impressive silver cross set with five good sized teardrop shaped faceted saphirets and additional smaller, circular saphirets in both the main pendant and the bale.
Openwork in design, including the original dedicated bale, with the stones all displaying those strong blues and reddish browns that are so typical of good saphiret stones.
A very well made and substantial piece with the additional contrasting detail of tiny silver balls at the extremities.
Probably Czech in origin and dating from around 1920, the pendant measures 9.5 cm in length including the bale.
The necklace chain, which has an unusual hook type fastener, is 50 cm long
