Silver and Mother-of-Pearl Necklace with Rubies*
Silver necklace with an upright oval mother-of-pearl plaque set with a finely beaded border and suspending below three ruby beads on short lengths of chain.
An unusual but effective combination of elements but it works very well and looks extremely elegant when worn.
No marks apparent but we think it is English and dates from the late 1800’s.
Approximately 7 cm in length from the top of the bale to the bottom of the central drop with the necklace chain, which has an ‘S’ clasp, measuring 46 cm.
