Item Description
Enamelled portrait of a young maiden by the highly regarded Limoges enameller R. Sarlandie (born 1901).
Titled 'Fabiola d'apres Henner', it is based on the original well known painting by J.J. Henner.
The subject is seen in profile, set against a dark background, wearing a dress and cape of rich red velvet.
Beautifully enamelled , as to be expected from Sarlandie, and in the original frame with the retailer's note still affixed to the back.
The frame measures 34 X 31 overall, with the oval image being approximately 11.25 X 8 cm.
