Portrait by Comte
Undated but undoubtedly Art Nouveau era oil on board portrait of a young lady with long dark brown hair, signed by the artist E. Comte. She appears to be gazing just past the viewer and is wearing a sumptuous red gown and floral hat or headscarf.
Beautifully painted with lovely shading technique – one of those where the closer you look the more you would like to know something of her story.
The original old frame has had a couple of minor knocks over the years but suits the painting very well.
Height including the frame is 30 cm and the width 22 cm.
