Original silver plique-à-jour brooch depicting the American free-dance exponent Loie Fuller.
Made by the German firm of Meyle & Mayer of Pforzheim, this design was commissioned by Loie Fuller herself and shows her performing her ‘Danse Serpentine’ which regularly held audiences spellbound at the Folies Bergère in Paris.
A delightful Art Nouveau piece, beautifully detailed and dating from around 1900-05.
