Patinated Candlesticks with Enamelled Cabochons*
Striking pair of Arts and Crafts patinated metal candlesticks that at first glance from a distance we thought were made of copper but in fact may well be of steel.
With a hammered finish and riveted construction, they have a very individual look and are full of character.
Basically square in section, the base is raised slightly on its four feet and the tall column is mounted turned at an angle, the sides being kept in place by riveted straps. Just below the drip tray the sides finish by curving outwards and down.
Boat-shaped dark green enamelled cabochons decorate the upper part of the column on all sides, a couple being slightly brighter than the others.
At the top the rounded candle holder and drip tray sit on the four petal like tops of the sides.
Approximately 26 cm in height with the base 12 cm square.
