Painted Wooden Plaque
Cute painted wooded plaque which probably originally came from the end of a child’s cot or small bed.
The wood looks to be lime and has been fashioned with a shaped outline, an ornately carved border and, inside, a Mabel Lucie Attwell type painted scene depicting a little boy and girl playing in the sunshine. They both look a bit hot and bothered with the little chap mopping his brow and the girl looking rather concerned, but the dog in the middle seems happy enough.
A little of the paint has worn away over the years but there is plenty still there and it makes a great little picture.
