A very lovely Arts & Crafts enamelled plaque on silver of a galleon at sea.
With a full sail and long white flag streaming in the wind, the ship can be seen making strong progress beneath a single star shining in the late evening sky.
Attributed to the Guild of Handicraft and somewhat in the manner of Charles Fleetwood Varley, this piece dates from circa late1890's.
