Newlyn Style Enamelled Necklace
Arts & Crafts silver and enamel necklace dating from circa 1900, very much in the style of Newlyn but, as is so often the case, unmarked.
The main body of the pendant in an ornate floral type design with intricate wirework, little silver dots and burnt-orange enamel cabochons. Suspended below are three teardrop shaped enamelled drops.
Three links above the pendant, the bale is also enamelled in the same manner and the lower part of the chain continues the same design theme.
The chain itself has been lengthened very slightly at some time in the past, the extra few links not quite matching the original chain.
With an unusual hand-made fastener which connects in a very secure manner.
