Murrle Bennett Gold & Turquoise Brooch*
Item Description
Convex brooch in 15 ct gold made by Murrle Bennett & Co almost certainly for Liberty’s London store.
An almost oval outline with a classic entrelac design in the manner of Archibald Knox, and set with a fine turquoise matrix stone in the centre.
At the very top, immediately above the turquoise, is a further detail in the form of a small, contrasting pearl.
Marked verso with the MBCo maker’s mark and 15 ct.
Dating from circa 1900 and with a width of 3.5 cm.
