Murrle Bennett Gold Brooch with Opals*
15 ct gold brooch from Murrle Bennett & Co with a beautifully coloured central opal and another suspended below.
This is a classic Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau openwork design probably made in their Pforzheim workshops for Liberty’s just before the 1800’s ended.
The sinuous lines are evenly balanced on each side, giving the brooch a very fluid look and two small pearls, mounted above and below the central opal, add just the perfect understated detail.
A little over 4 cm in width with the maker’s mark and gold content shown on the pin.
