Murrle Bennett Gold and Garnet Pendant*
Item Description
Pendant necklace in 15 ct. gold set with an oval garnet cabochon, a little seed pearl at the top and a larger Mississippi pearl forming the drop.
An openwork design with an almost circular main outline detailed with a sweeping entrelac type feature which crosses over and beneath the wirework edge so as to provide anchor points for the necklace chain.
Made by the Anglo-German company Murrle Bennett & Co and marked verso with their MBCo maker’s mark, together with the gold content of 15 ct.
Measuring just a fraction below 5 cm from the top of the four short lengths of chain to the bottom of the pearl.
The 9 ct. gold necklace chain has a barrel type clasp and is a further 41 cm long.
