Murrle Bennett Gold and Black Opal Pendant*
Art Nouveau 15 ct. gold pendant by Murrle Bennett & Co. set with a splendid black opal of a rich blue shade plus other coloured highlights.
Almost circular in outline, the pendant has an openwork design with gold wirework curling inwards on each side, framing the upright oval opal stone.
Beneath is suspended a baroque pearl drop.
Marked on the reverse with the MB Co maker’s mark and 15ct.
The pendant is just a fraction under 3 cm. in length including the drop, and the 9 ct. gold necklace chain measures 55 cm.
