Marius Hammer Pendant Necklace*
Item Description
Skønvirke pendant necklace in silver gilt from the workshops of the Norwegian jeweller and silversmith Marius Hammer, dating from the early 1900’s.
Finely detailed with sinuously swirling silver gilt wirework and acented with little enamelled cabochons in a strong shade of blue.
The pendant is suspended on two short lengths of chain from a circular surmount in matching enamel, which shows on the back the mark of Marius Hammer, and the drop below repeats the enamelled detail.
Still on the original silver gilt chain with its very recognizable and effective push and twist fastener.
The pendant measures a little over 7 cms. in length including the suspender and the drop, with the remainder of the necklace chain having a length of approximately 43 cms.
