Lorenzl Ice Dancer*
Item Description
Stylish cold-painted spelter and ivorine figure of an ice dancer with signature on the base, Lorenzl (Josef Lorenzl, 1892-1950). Coloured in shades of silver and gold, the young lady glides over the ice on one skate with her other leg gracefully extended behind her. Lovely detail to the dress and the lady’s face.
Mounted on a pale green diamond-shaped and stepped base, this figure is full of energy and movement and very typically Art Deco.
As can be seen from one of the close-up photos, at some stage over the years she has lost part of one finger, but she still displays very well. Dating around 1930.
