Loetz Papillon Bowl*
Item Description
This is a wonderful Loetz high-sided bowl formed from free blown glass, with an integral foot, dating from around 1900.
The exterior has blue and gold Papillon décor, with a trailing band around the centre in cobalt blue and silver and with a pinched design detail. The inside has a smooth Silberiris finish in gold on a pale yellow ground.
Good size at 18.5 cm diameter and around 13 cm high. As can be seen from one of the photographs, there is a small burst bubble in the glass visible on one part of the banded design, which obviously dates from the time of manufacture.
