Le Faguays “Diana”
Item Description
Cold-painted bronze figure of Diana the Huntress by Pierre Le Faguays.
She stands on one leg on a naturalistic rocky base, wearing a short tunic and with bow in hand. Her back is arched as she looks skyward.
With wonderful flowing lines, this is an impressively dramatic yet elegant piece of Art Deco sculpture, dating from circa 1925.
Finished in a pleasing dull olivey-bronze with gold highlights and showing a good aged patination.
Signed on the base Le Faguays and with impressed foundry seal. Also marked Susse Fres Edits Paris and further marked bronze. The height is a touch under 68 cm.
Real impact on display.
