Iridescent Vase with Enamelled Flamingos*
Item Description
We have been extremely fortunate in acquiring this rare and beautiful iridescent glass vase which, although unmarked, is reliably attributed to Fritz Heckert of Petersdorf.
Surrounding the vase are four pink flamingos, leisurely browsing and feeding amongst flowering water lilies.
The glass is a pale yellow colour, deepening towards the top, and showing on the surface an orangey gold iridescence with a satin texture.
Around the rim the decorative green enamelled border has a curved detail similar in shape to the beaks of the flamingos.
Circa 1900, with a height of 18 cm and a maximum width of approximately 14 cm.
