Brooch by George Hunt
Openwork silver brooch from George Hunt with a circular outline enclosing within a smaller circle placed towards one side.
The open area between the two circles is decorated with heart shaped leaves enamelled in golden yellow and deep pink, with little silver tendrils in between.
Three carnelian cabochons are set, spaced around the crescent, two circular with the central one a slightly rounded rectangle.
Circa 1930, marked GH on the back and with a width of a fraction below 4 cm.
A little bit of provenance is apparent as when we acquired this brooch in was in a small and rather age-worn cardboard box together with a visiting card in the name od Capt. S,C. Turner, late Royal Artillery, with a hand-written birthday greeting on the back. The box and card can be supplied with the brooch if requested.
