French Art Nouveau Portrait Locket*
French Art Nouveau medalist locket in 18 ct. gold showing on the face the portrait in profile of a young woman against a quatrefoil outlined backdrop.
Set with diamonds and a ruby, this is a high quality piece that, rather frustratingly, bears no maker’s signature.
The locket slides open to reveal a shallow circular compartment suitable for a photograph or perhaps a small lock of hair.
Marked with the French gold mark on the fixed ring and a good size with a diameter of just a fraction below 4 cm.
This fine locket, which frankly our photos do not really do justice to, hangs on a good Art Nouveau 9 ct. gold chain with an unusual hook and screw fastener and a length of approximately 54 cm.
