Faceted Green Glass Ball Caged in Silver*
Arts & Crafts pendant consisting of a faceted green glass ball caged inside decorative silver wirework.
Four silver wires curve downwards and round from the decorative circular top to the similarly shaped lower section. Three of these are decorated with leaves, flowers and berries, the fourth, at the back of the pendant, being left plain so as not to snag on clothing when the pendant is worn.
There are a couple of minor marks to the glass, which is hardly surprising after so many years, but the ball can be twisted and turned inside its casing so as to conceal these if thought necessary.
On a fine old Arts & Crafts silver chain with a hand-made fastener.
The pendant together with its ring bale measures just under 5.5 cm and the necklace chain has a length of approximately 64 cm.
