Erhard & Söhne Casket
Delightful little casket crafted from Brazilian rosewood by the German company Erhard & Söhne around 1905.
Arched at each end, with the lid following the same contoured shape over its full width and decorated with a complex inlaid and applied design in brass.
Pressing the centre of the front panel releases the lid which opens to reveal an interior that is lined on the bottom, with matching lining material on the lid’s underside.
Beautifully made, as is usual with items from this maker, and in excellent condition.
The width of the box is 9.5 cm, the depth 5.5 and the height just a fraction below 5 cm.
