Arts & Crafts Gold and Enamel Pendant Necklace from the Workshop of Henry Wilson

Item Description

Quite beautiful English Arts & Crafts pendant necklace in high carat – almost certainly 18 ct. – gold made at Henry Wilson’s workshop in the early 1900’s.

The necklace is unsigned but very much in the style of John Paul Cooper who frequently collaberated with another of Wilson’s employees, H.G. Murphy and with Wilson himself over the crafting of certain special pieces.

Featuring a pierced design on the main pendant of a framed rose branch with stems, flowers and leaves, all in exquisite detail.

This is suspended beneath a diamond shaped panel, also detailed with roses, and with a central chequerboard in white and green enamel.

Faceted gemstones which test as topaz, in assorted shades of green and yellow are set at intervals along the wonderfully elaborate original necklace chain, with the largest of these being linked between the enamelled component and the main pendant.

The drop is just a fraction over 6.5 cms. and the overall opened out length is approximately 44 cms.
