English Art Nouveau Gold Necklace
Quite delightful English made necklace in 15 ct. gold, set with graduated seed pearls all along its sinuous, ribbon like outline.
Further pearls are set immediately above and below the main design feature, with two more in the little drop suspended below the central peridot.
At the foot, on a short length of chain, hangs a teardrop shaped pink topaz stone.
The lower part of the necklace chain is decorated at intervals with alternate peridots, pink topaz and seed pearls, adding a pleasing detail to the overall design.
Circa 1900-1910, marked 15ct. on the back and also with a maker’s mark which looks to read SS. We believe this to be for Samuel Smith & Son, Jewellers of The Strand, London.
The pendant is 5 cm long, including the drop, and the necklace chain measures approximately 41 cm.
