Charles Horner Butterfly Wing Pendant*
Item Description
Art Nouveau silver pendant from Charles Horner with the central oval feature detailed with butterfly wing set behind a prominent glass cabochon.
Better known for enamel work, Horner did occasionally use other mediums including paste stones, Ruskin Pottery ceramics and, as with this example, butterfly wing.
The central suspender and drop are both enamelled in a complementary shade of blue and the whole look is delightfully balanced.
Marked C.H in the usual way and also impressed with a Chester hallmark for the year 1913.
The pendant, including the suspender and drop, measures 7 cm in length and the necklace chain is 47 cm long.
