Brass Coal Box
Item Description
Solidly made Arts & Crafts square brass coal box with its original removable insert.
Raised on four integral feet that are riveted and extend upwards to form the strengthened corners of the box.
The lid slopes forward and is decorated with a fleur-de-lys pattern in the centre, either side of which the long, strap-like hinge plates are riveted, ending in an arrowhead design.
Two sturdy handles are fitted to the sides.
In good polished condition, commensurate with its age and still extremely serviceable.
