Bernhard Hertz Skønvirke Brooch*
Silver brooch from the Danish jeweller Bernhard Hertz (Bernard Hertz) dating from around 1905-10.
Designed as an evenly balanced open spray of leaves with four sinuous stems curving down over the front, each suspending what looks to be a winged seedpod. A fifth , slightly larger drop hangs from the centre.
A strongly coloured coral cabochon is set in the centre of the brooch towards the top.
Marked on the reverse with the BH maker’s mark and the 828 silver mark.
