Austrian Silver and Enamel Crucifixion Brooch
Stunning Austrian silver framed enamel brooch dating from circa 1900 with an image of Jesus on the Cross.
The square frame, embellished with stylised detail at the corners, contains within it a circular silver ring which in turn encloses the intricate and highly detailed scene enamelled in impressionist style using several contrasting colours.
A substantial and beautifully made item, almost certainly enamelled on to copper but the back is also sealed with enamel so we cannot be completely certain.
In very good condition and measuring 6 cm across.
