Arts & Crafts Necklace with Saphirets*
Item Description
Delightful Arts & Crafts silver necklace set with a large circular saphiret stone together with a similar oval stone set in the drop.
The main element comprises a shield-shaped hammered silver frame, accented with two raised dots at the top corners, with a rope pattern border surrounding the collet setting for a splendidly coloured faceted saphiret.
An equally well coloured stone is set in the drop which also shows a fancy silver wirework design detail at its top.
No maker’s mark, just ‘silver’ on the back and a fraction below 5 cm in length.
The chain, which is original and has a lovely hand-made toggle type clasp, measures approximately 39 cm.
