Art Nouveau Rose Gold and Opal Pendant*
Item Description
English Art Nouveau pendant in 9 ct. rose gold set with an unusually fine boulder opal, with an equally fine opal bead drop.
The shaped outline with its organic wirework detail at top and bottom lends an elegance to the pleasing overall design.
Marked on the back with the maker’s mark JA&S, possibly for J. Aitkin & Son of Birmingham. Also marked 9 ct.
Dating from circa 1900-05, the pendant and bale measure a touch over 5.5 cm and the 9 ct. gold necklace chain has a length of 53 cm.
