Art Nouveau Mignon
Late 1890's statuette of a seated, demure young lady wearing a long dress.
Her long hair is loose about her shoulders and there are no shoes on her feet. She has a small posy of flowers on her lap and seems to be quietly relaxing in a secluded garden.
A good size at 55 cm high and in an all-over patinated pale greenish brown colour. It looks to be of plaster but, unusually, is hollow so we are not completely sure. Unmarked but probably originating from France.
This is a quiet and gentle study and looks really good on display.
