Art Nouveau Gold, Opal and Pearl Pendant*
Elegant English Art Nouveau gold pendant featuring an openwork design of curving stems and leaves, set with a nicely coloured rectangular opal in its centre.
Further detail is added with a pair of little circular mother-of-pearl discs set at each outside edge.
A delightfully mis-shapen baroque pearl is suspended at the foot, completing a typically Art Nouveau look.
We have not tested the gold, preferring not to leave any marks, but believe it to be at least 15 ct., including the central ring suspender and the two short lengths of chain.
The pendant is 5.5 cm. long from the ring to the bottom of the pearl and is just a fraction over 3.5 cm in width.
The 46 cm long necklace chain is 9 ct. gold and features a toggle type fastener.
