Art Nouveau Enamelled Peacock Necklace*
Super Art Nouveau necklace in the form of a stylised peacock, colourfully enamelled on to copper with a silver back plate.
A very fluid design with rich enamelling in shades that completely reflect the varied palette of the peacock’s wonderful plumage.
The copper plaque has been mounted on to a backplate of silver in order to avoid marking the skin or clothes of the wearer.
Attached via four fixed rings to a stylish Art Nouveau necklace chain.
No maker’s mark apparent but known to be English and dating from circa 1905.
The peacock measures a little under 8 cm long and the chain extends to around 44 cm in length.
