Art Nouveau Carved Horn Moth on Horn Chain
Item Description
A French Art Nouveau pendant in translucent horn, hand carved to depict a stylised moth with outspread wings within a slightly rounded triangular frame.
Unusually, the attached necklace chain is also carved from the same matching horn. This is a feature that we’ve not come across before but it certainly works well.
No marks or signature but from France and circa 1920.
The wingspan of the moth is 7.5 cm and the necklace chain is approximately 85 cm long.
