Art Nouveau Buckle by W.H. Summers*
Art Nouveau sterling silver belt buckle set with a teardrop shaped faceted amethyst.
A matching series of sinuously curving polished silver stems radiate out from the centre, each with a cluster of little berries at its tip.
These stand out in relief, contrasting beautifully with the dark patinated background.
The single piece buckle is gently curved for comfort when wearing and is in excellent condition for its age of around 120 years.
Marked on the back with the maker’s name W.H. Summers, about whom we can unfortunately find no information.
The width and height are both just a fraction below 7 cm.
