Art Nouveau Brooch by Marples & Beasley*
Art Nouveau silver and enamel brooch by Marples & Beasley with a Birmingham hallmark for the year 1909.
Approximately circular in outline with a design detail of five heart-shaped leaves richly enamelled in a shade of blackcurrant, standing out strongly against a blue background.
Sinuous stems to the leaves are picked out in silver and the whole effect is pure Art Nouveau.
The diameter of the brooch is just a touch over 2.5 cm.
