Limoges Table Mirror with Enamelled Portrait
Late 19th century French dressing table table mirror, which swivels to reveal an enamelled portrait of a young woman on the reverse.
Set in a richly decorated gilt bronze frame and standing on four curved legs which protrude ahead of and behind the frame itself.
Acanthus leaves embellish the feet and legs and a posy of flowers adorns the top of the column at each side.
The richly coloured enamel portrait shows the subject with her head turned, almost looking over her shoulder and towards the viewer.
It is signed on the left hand side by the master emailleur F. Bienvenu, Limoges.
Approximately 24 cm in height by 15 cm wide with the enamel plaque measuring 8 X 6 cm.
In good condition, commensurate with its age, with a touch of verdi-gris on some parts of the gilt bronze and a very small chip to one part of the bevelled edge of the mirror which is shown in close-up in our final photo.
