Bonté Caved Horn Pendant
Item Description
Unusual French Art Nouveau carved horn pendant by Elizabeth Bonté in the form of a beetle with its golden yellow wings folded across its back.
These only partially cover its body which can be seen in a vivid iridescent mix of blues, pinks and other colours.
At the foot a pink bead is knotted, descending into a long tassel.
Strung on a multi-stranded blue cord which is interspersed at regular intervals with opalescent glass beads.
Signed Bonté, albeit a little indistinctly, on the back.
The pendant, including the tassel, is approximately 13 cm long and the necklace cord, which simply fits over the head, has a length of approximately 76 cm.
