Rare Art Nouveau "Seaweed" vase from Sarreguemines dating from around 1900, titled "Les Algues".
Strong greeny-yellow colours shading somewhat darker towards the base and with a quite fantastic stylised seaweed design all round the vase. The inside of the rim is shaded a rich crimson red.
Slightly offset cylindrical shape, tapering genty over most of its length before swelling into a bulge towards the top, making for an unusual but most attractive shape.
In very good condition with just some slight crazing to the glaze as might be expected, but nothing that detracts from the impact on display.
Marked and numbered beneath and with a height of 37 cm.
