English Art Nouveau silver trinket tray showing a Chester hallmark for the year 1902.
Crafted with a shaped outline and a repoussé design showing the mirrored faces of a pair of young maidens towards the edge on each long side, their long hair falling and spreading all around them.
At each end is an iris flower with a whiplash design feature which extends all around the tray just inside the rim.
Quite beautifully worked but unfortunately we are unable to confirm the actual silversmith owing to the maker's mark being rather rubbed.
A useful size at just a fraction below 31 cm long overall by a little over 22 cm wide.
